Efficiency classes
Optimum efficiency and minimal operating costs are of particular importance to TOSHIBA. The efficiency of the units is rated as extremely high according to the European benchmark.
Standardized efficiency
The efficiency criteria SEER or ESEER (European Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) and SCOP (Seasonal Coefficient of Performance) describe the ratio of usable cooling or heating capacity to the electrical power consumed. The capacity measurement takes place at four different temperatures.
Taking into account different outdoor temperatures, an efficiency of 90% in the partial load range is included in the evaluation – this is where TOSHIBA's inverter technology combined with the twin-rotary compressor really comes into its own. TOSHIBA's outstanding ESEER and SCOP values are demonstrated by the outdoor units.

Seasonal energy efficiency levels:
COP
The COP (Coefficient of Performance) refers to the energy efficiency of a unit in heating mode. For example, a COP value of 4.0 means that a 4 kW heating capacity is generated from 1 kW of electricity, i.e. the thermal output is quadruple the electrical input.
SCOP
The SCOP (Seasonal Coefficient of Performance) takes into account annual operation with additional measurements at outdoor temperatures of +12, +7, +2, and –7°C.
EER and SEER
As with the EER (Energy Efficiency Ratio) for cooling mode, the SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) also includes additional measurements, taking into account seasonal factors. Measuring points are +20, +25, +30, and +35°C.
ESEER
Today, VRF systems are usually evaluated according to their ESEER (European SEER) value, which takes into account partial load factors. A formula is used for this purpose, which forms the sum of four individual values with various weightings.
