Mewa has been providing industrial textiles to commercial customers as a part of an all-round service since 1908 and is therefore considered a pioneer in sustainable textile service. The textiles are prepared, delivered, collected, washed, maintained, and replaced in the case of wear. Mewa supplies companies across Europe with workwear, protective clothing, cleaning cloths, oil collecting mats, and foot mats from 47 sites, whereby Mewa takes responsibility for care, maintenance, warehousing, and logistics.

Perfect climate for the production site

A distribution center for logistics and regional customer support was opened to the southeast of Graz at Mewa Austria's new facility in January 2022. This center is considered a pilot project for future-oriented workplace design and environmentally friendly energy supply. The company has received many awards for its commitment to sustainability and responsible conduct as well as for its leadership in the market and spirit of innovation. For example, Mewa Austria received the award "Business Superbrand" for the fifth time in a row for 2022/23.

For year-round operation

CAVERION Österreich GmbH was responsible for planning and installing the air conditioning technology. Due to the long-standing successful collaboration with TECHNOPARK RAABA, CAVERION had the task of ensuring year-round heating and cooling in all rooms with excellent efficiency values. In order to guarantee year-round operation, the systems were designed so as to ensure a cool indoor climate in summer and cozy heat in winter. In the technical rooms, the TOSHIBA RAV systems have to maintain the same defined temperature each and every day – no problem for the TOSHIBA Digital Inverter. Compact and quiet thanks to the installed twin-rotary compressor, it ensures particularly high efficiency values in part load operation.

Technology from TOSHIBA

Over a period of multiple months, a total area spanning over 1,300 m², divided into 360 m² of office space, 20 m² of technical rooms, and 930 m² of logistics space, was put into operation in 2022 with TOSHIBA VRF and RAV systems. The total capacity is 56 kW. CAVERION Österreich GmbH, under the project management of Alexander Pogner, expected to encounter multiple challenges during installation: the low installation height of just 17 cm, all the crossing points that had to be avoided, and integrating the indoor units attractively into the ambitious design concept. The TOSHIBA 1-way flat cassette was therefore installed in the office rooms, blending seamlessly into the ceiling construction. The quiet function of the indoor unit also ensures that important discussions are not disturbed by the noise of the air conditioning system. Besides high-wall units in the technical rooms, TOSHIBA's 4-way standard cassettes which are suitable for use in commercial spaces with high ceilings and a high capacity requirement, were installed in the logistics hall.

The systems are mainly controlled using the wired remote controls which intuitively adapt to the individual control demands thanks to the icon-supported display and menu navigation in English and German.
