Comfortable climate due to the TOSHIBA VRF system

Business solutions, ICEBEAR Entfeuchtung & Klima GmbH

A new feel-good location has been created at the heart of the charming museum quarter – Hotel Gilbert. The facade covered in greenery is a real head-turner, with the design and plant concept of the interior also representing a forward-looking adaptation to help offset the impact of climate change that is setting new sustainable benchmarks in the 7th district of Vienna. However, it's not just the year-round hydroponic green facade that ensures a lower ambient temperature, but also the flexible and energy-efficient VRF systems from TOSHIBA.

Exactly – the perfect climate

The challenges are obvious when air conditioning a hotel. A wide variety of areas with different requirements also need different unit solutions – and, first and foremost, the air conditioners should be inconspicuous. With this in mind, the top floor has been transformed into luxury lofts in which multiple duct units blend into the wall structure.

Environmentally friendly hotel

The responsible planning and installation company ICEBEAR Entfeuchtung & Klima GmbH had been issued a clear instruction for the environmentally friendly hotel: to provide full air conditioning for the entire hotel while also ensuring that existing systems are reused as far as possible. Furthermore, the city council's building rules with regard to fire protection and sound insulation guidelines were very strict and necessitated special solutions to be implemented for the project.

However, ICEBEAR Entfeuchtung & Klima GmbH was able to overcome these challenges to the complete satisfaction of the owners. For example, a sound insulation housing was set up to reduce noise emission and the older TOSHIBA air conditioners were moved to various new locations including the hotel gym.
