Good climate for hard concrete technology

Völkermarkt is home to a FRANZ OBERNDORFER GmbH & Co KG production site employing around 100 people. The family-run company has been in business for over 100 years and is well-known as Austria's leading producer of pre-fabricated concrete and offers innovative and holistic solutions – from planning and production to transport and installation.

It is immediately clear when you take a look at the attractively designed office wing on the 2nd floor that there is no room for ugly units or poor design when it comes to the air conditioning systems. This 200 m² facility, made up of individual offices, an open social area, and a spacious meeting area, needs an air conditioning concept which doesn't impact the rooms and interior. Daniel Wodlei, project manager at KLÖTZL Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH., which was commissioned with the planning and implementation, successfully worked on this project. In actual fact, he would have liked to have used completely invisible duct units to provide the roughly 30 kW of cooling capacity required, but unfortunately the room heights and the ceiling constructions with barely any suspension upset his plans. High-wall units would definitely have disrupted the overall architectural concept, which was why a solution with 10 slim 1-way cassettes was quickly chosen. The combination of high output and a low height with an inconspicuous and appealing panel turned out to be perfect. With just one louver, the TOSHIBA cassettes can reach every corner without drafts – even in the large conference room. On the control system side, a concept which was both sleek and customized with individual infrared remote controls was chosen.
