Myths about air conditioning systems
Putting air conditioning systems into a good light!
It hasn't been an easy time for air conditioning systems. Ever since they were introduced, they have had to fight against the preconceptions that they are loud and ugly, consume too much electricity, and can even make you sick… and air conditioning systems don't actually provide reasonable heating anyway!
Have you fallen for any of these? Are you also convinced that one or more of these claims are absolutely true?
Admittedly, a few of these preconceptions were true around 10 years ago – but today we have highly specialized units which help you feel comfortable and alert without any noticeable disadvantages.
Air conditioning systems are loud!
High-quality fan components mean that TOSHIBA indoor units can provide heating or cooling at just 20 dB(A) – this is a similar volume to leaves rustling or the sound of our breathing. Variable speed compressors and fans mean that outdoor units are almost inaudible from just a few meters away.
Air conditioning systems are ugly!

There are also options for a paint, film, or even leather trim on the system for a high degree of customization. And if you want the system to be completely invisible, duct units can be installed completely in suspended ceilings.
Air conditioning systems make you sick!
Precisely the opposite is true – air filter systems in TOSHIBA units not only clean and refresh our ambient air, but can also play a significant role in helping preserve our health with their effect against pollen, germs, bacteria, and viruses. In addition, these filters only need a little maintenance which you can even carry out easily yourself.
Air conditioning systems are energy guzzlers!
High energy efficiency has always been standard for all TOSHIBA systems. The inverter control system for the compressors only provides precisely the amount of power needed – resulting in top efficiency values in heating and cooling mode. The proof of this is the energy label with efficiency classes of up to A+++. Even a standard unit only requires an annual expense amounting to a dinner for two.
Air conditioning systems are not suitable for heating!
This is a thing of the past – all current TOSHIBA air conditioning systems also have a heat pump function. So not only are they suitable for providing a couple more degrees of coziness in your living room during transitional periods between seasons, but even large buildings can be heated safely and reliably without using an additional heating system – and at outside temperatures as low as -25°C.
